Rapper Nelly Has Been Arrested In St. Louis For Ecstasy Possession & Lack Of Insurance

Rapper Nelly, real name Cornell Haynes II, has reportedly been arrested in possession of four ecstasy pills and for not having insurance.

The 49-year-old was arrested at 4:45 am, taken to the Maryland Heights Police Department, and later released.

Maryland Heights Police confirmed that the rapper had an outstanding traffic summons on Aug. 7. He was also in possession of four ecstasy pills, a controlled substance, and was without insurance, according to online records.

According to the Maryland Heights Police Department, they received Haynes from MSHP and arrested him for the warrant. Police confirmed he was released from custody.

Last month, it was confirmed that Nelly and Ashanti are married and expecting their first child together. During an interview with Love and Hip Hop’s Rasheeda and Kirk Frost, Haynes admitted that rekindling their romance was a surprise for both of them.

“It wasn’t anything that I don’t think was planned. I think we both were pretty much doing what we do, but sometimes being separate you understand one another more,” he said, revealing how time apart played a role in their rekindled relationship.

“You be like, ‘Yo, let me see exactly what they see.’ You know, because we all can be defensive sometimes in our own relationships. We know we wrong but we going to stand on it. But we all a victim to that,” the rapper added.

The couple got engaged in April 2024, and on the same day that Ashanti announced they were also expecting their first child together. Two months later, it was revealed that they had actually been married since December 2023.
