‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’ star Mia Thornton has publicly accused her estranged husband, Gordon, of manipulation, abuse, and financial control in a scathing revelation.

The reality star revealed in a candid statement how how their relationship began when she was just 19, and Gordon, 32 years her senior, used his wealth and connections to manipulate her into believing he was a powerful figure in the community.

According to Mia, her soon to be ex-husband’s true intentions were revealed early on when he admitted he wanted a woman who would make him a “kept man.”

Mia claims Gordon exerted control over her as their relationship progressed, threatening her future success if she didn’t comply with his demands. When Mia tried to distance herself, she claims he began showing up unannounced and making her feel trapped.

When Mia turned 24, she had built a successful business and life for herself, but the couple’s finances began to spiral as her estranged husband’s lavish spending exceeded his means. Then Mia allegedly walked in on Gordon kissing and having sex with a friend of hers at their home, which was the final straw that prompted her to consider leaving.

Gordon then begged her to stay, admitting that he was bankrupt and in need of help. Mia claims she stayed and tried to rebuild with him, but unfortunately faced years of emotional abuse and manipulation.

The reality star says Gordon constantly threatened her she would never succeed without him, using threats and emotional control to keep her in the marriage. Mia says she has finally gained the confidence to leave after over a decade of hardship and is now “setting herself free” with her new man.

The 39-year-old vowed to no longer protect him, describing him as a “predator” who manipulates young women.
