Doechii just got a very rare co-sign from one of the best rappers of this generation, Kendrick Lamar. It’s arguably on merit as the TDE rapper has been making waves with her meaningful lyrics and unique sound.

Kendrick who has also been in the news after triumphing over Drake in their heated beef some months back, took to Instagram to dub Doechii the hardest.

“The hardest out [alligator emoji],” Kendrick wrote in a rare Instagram Story, alongside the artwork of Doechii’s recent mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal, which came out in August under the Capitol Records/Top Dawg Entertainment banner.

The ‘Alter Ego’ crooner caught up with the shout out and was very appreciative of the lofty praise. “Thank you Dot. You the greatest,” she wrote in response via her own Instagram page. “Getting your flowers while you can still smell them >>>,” she added.

Doechii joined Top Dawg Entertainment better known as TDE in early 2022 as the label’s first-ever female rapper. Her first two years were spent on releasing non-album singles and collaborative tracks with acts like SZA, Kodak Black, and City Girls’ JT, but didn’t release a full-length TDE project until this year’s ABNH.

The 26-year-old MC recently revealed her interest in collaborating with Kendrick Lamar, although she admitted that she doesn’t quite feel ready yet.

“I don’t assume anything and I also don’t feel entitled to a Kendrick feature but I would absolutely love that,” the Tampa, Florida native said on the ‘Joe Budden Podcast’.

“That’s the goal. I’m sure that, like, for my debut project, eventually I’m gonna ask Top [Dawg] if he could ask Kendrick, or ask Kendrick myself and see what comes from that. But I’ma be real, I don’t think I have the record right now for that opportunity,” she added.
