Keyshia Cole Apologizes For Announcing That Ashanti Is Pregnant Again

Keyshia Cole has been under heavy criticism after she boldly announced that Ashanti is pregnant again, and expecting her second child with Nelly.

Amid the backlash, the singer has now issued an apology to the couple for fronting with her announcement.

It all started when the 43-year-old singer and TV personality appeared on The Breakfast Club. While Cole was giving Ashanti her flowers, she congratulated her on baby number two.

“Shout out to Ashanti. She’s amazing… just to be up on that platform with Ashanti, I appreciate that,” the R&B star said, and when asked if they talked after that, Keyshia replied, “No… she got a baby… again!”

Loren Lorsa then asked her to clarify the baby news. It was then Keyshia replied saying, “Omg… I didn’t break anything. I saw this on the internet!”

Charlamagne tha God also chimed in, saying, “I thought everybody knew that.” Loren then corrected that it’s just been rumors floating around and that this is yet to be confirmed.

Keyshia later slid into the comments section of Hollywood Unlocked to publicly apologize for invading the couple’s privacy with her announcement.

“My apologies… I shouldn’t have said that. I thought she announced it. If that isn’t true then I apologize,” she wrote.

Ashanti and Nelly got married during a secret ceremony in 2023 after rekindling their relationship in the same year. According to Nelly, he had to cuff her after she got pregnant so she don’t become a baby mama.

“Once we found out that she was pregnant… We didn’t talk about any of that,” the rapper told Bootleg Kev back in March. “I was like, ‘Yo, let’s just knock this out because we’re going to be doing so much and everything’s moving so fast.’”

“I didn’t want her to be a baby mama because we already knew where we were in life. If we’re back like this, this must be what it’s supposed to be,” he added, per Billboard.
