Lil Woody Fires His Lawyer While Testifying In Young Thug’s YSL RICO Trial

Lil Woody is currently trending after he fired his lawyer while testifying in the ongoing Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial. Yesterday, the rapper whose real name is Kenneth Copeland, took the stand after spending the weekend in jail for refusing to testify last week.

During the trial, Woody was asked by the judge presiding over the case, Ural D. Glanville, whether he wanted to proceed with his lawyer, Miss Bumpass.

“She [is] fired. I don’t want her,” the rapper responded in the middle of his testimony. It’s noteworthy that Miss Bumpass had previously requested the court to remove her as Copeland’s counsel.

She also informed the judge her client, Lil Woody, fired her before he took to the stand on Tuesday.

The updates from the case were shared on X, formerly Twitter by independent reporter and legal journalist, Meghann Cuniff, and the video of the incident has since been making rounds online.

On June 11, Lil Woody’s attorney, Miss Bumpass, requested the judge’s permission to be taken off his case. Copeland also agreed with his counsel’s request and “fired” her in open court, saying he didn’t want her.

Notwithstanding, Fulton County Superior Court Chief Judge, Ural D. Glanville, denied the request to let her go as she was present during his testimony. She then requested to “approach” the bench, which the judge later allowed.

Miss Bumpass then submitted an order to the court requesting her official withdrawal from representing Woody in the YSL RICO trial, which the judge granted. Glanville notified her that she would have to appear before the court on June 25 to show probable cause for her resignation.
