Future Cuts His Locs, Shows Off New Look At The Met Gala

A lot of headlines have been created from the 2025 Met Gala. From Teyana Taylor’s Harlem Renaissance-inspired Dandy look, to co-chair LeBron James’ absence, and Rihanna’s third pregnancy reveal.

And there’s a new addition. Future has chopped off his signature locs and debut a new look at the event, which has since been garnering mixed reactions on social media.

The rapper seems to need a name tag for easy recognition at the event after arriving at the 2025 Met Gala with a new haircut, leaving him unrecognizable to many. The Atlanta rapper, real name Nayvadius Cash, was photographed exiting his hotel ahead of the exclusive charity event Monday (May 5).

Although his outfit felt like a casual take on this year’s “Tailored For You” theme, it was the rapper’s hair that really caught fans’ attention, as his locs appear to have been cut and/or combed out into a short afro style.

According to the NY Post, some fans are not impressed with the rapper’s new look. “Future without dreads put that on the list of shit I never thought I’d see,” a fan commented on X, formerly Twitter.

“Why niggas tryna have a “unique look” and fuck up their whole appearances like that,” another person wrote.

Back in November, Elliot Wilson revealed that Future and Drake have squashed their beef. Wilson made it known during an episode of ‘The Bigger Picture’ that the two rap stars settled their differences over the phone.

“I have it on good authority that Drake and Future have at least gotten on the phone and resolved their differences,” he said at the time.

The former XXL editor-in-chief believes that Young Thug‘s social media post in which he urged Drake, Future and Metro Boomin to make amends played a significant role in the truce.
