Michael Hawkins, a retired Colorado officer who was previously deemed a hero for his efforts in the 2012 Aurora movie theater shooting, is facing shocking criminal charges for raping his biological daughter when she was 6 and abusing his other kids.

It’s gathered that his ex-wife has been sent to jail for refusing therapy meant to reunify the family. The 55-year-old was hit with six felony counts for sexually assaulting a child, along with a misdemeanor for child abuse which allegedly took place from 2002 to 2021.

The former hero cop is also accused of molesting his two stepdaughters from his ex-wife and nearly drowning one of their sons by holding him underwater until he was unconscious in 2018. The son believed that it was punishment for catching his father molesting one of his sisters.

Michael’s ex wife, Rachel Pickrel-Hawkins, stays in a domestic violence shelter and currently has custody of their two sons who are now 13 and 10, per the New York Post.

He has since been fighting to get custody of the boys through the court using “reunification therapy” ordered by a judge. Strangely, the therapy’s intent is to repair the relationship between the boys and their dad but Rachel believes it’s traumatizing the kids.

Rachel refers to the therapy as “nothing but manipulation, psychological abuse” and “coercion and gaslighting.”

After standing up against the sessions, a judge ruled that Rachel was interfering and sentenced her to 7 weekends in jail. During this time, Michael was released after posting bail for $50,000. He’s made it clear that he denies all accusations, including those of sexually abusing his adopted daughters.

“The legal process will provide him with the opportunity to present additional information related to these allegations in the future,” attorney Christopher Estoll said.
