A Wisconsin woman, Cassandra Hult, has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband by shooting him in the back of the head and leaving his body in a cemetery, alongside proof that she did it.

The body of the husband, whose name is Santiago, was found in a parked car at St. Adalbert Cemetery on March 23, 2020, by a jogger who frequented the area, per Law and Crime.

Detectives discovered the body after noticing the car had not moved for days. Authorities found that Santiago had been shot in the back of the head and also found a spent .38 casing, two McDonald’s soft drink cups, and a receipt indicating the beverages were bought at 12:29 p.m. on March 22, 2020 inside the vehicle.

According to Milwaukee ABC affiliate WISN, law officials tested the items recovered from the car and found that a straw from one of the McDonald’s cups tested positive for Santiago’s DNA as well as Cassandra’s fingerprints.

It’s also reported that cellphone location data confirmed that both Cassandra and Santiago were in the area of the cemetery before Santiago’s body was discovered.

Back in March 2020, Cassandra found text messages on Santiago’s phone which led to an argument where Santiago kicked her out of the car. At the time, she claimed she went to her grandmother’s house and the case stalled as she moved out of state.

Again in September 2021, Cassandra threatened to kill a woman she lived with in Arizona, after an argument erupted, mentioning she had killed her husband in Milwaukee. Cass’ daughter confirmed her admission. Her ex-boyfriend also revealed that Cass had repeatedly confessed to him about killing Santiago while they were in California.

An arrest warrant was issued for her on May 6th this year with a bond set at $500,000, and her court appearance is scheduled for July 10 in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.
