Fortunately, Donald Trump is alive after narrowly escaping an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. He was injured and quickly rushed off stage after a gunman opened fire at the event.

According to an update on the shooting from TMZ, contrary to widespread reports, the former President was not grazed by a bullet, but injured by glass from the shooting.

“A SOURCE WHO HAS SPOKE WITH A MEMBER OF THE SECRET SERVICE TELL TMZ, TRUMP WAS NOT HIT BY A BULLET. RATHER, A BULLET HIT HIS TELEPROMPTER AND THE GLASS STRUCK HIM BY THE EAR.”

Trump also took to Truth Social to thank his supporters for their thoughts and prayers in his second public comments since the attempt on his life yesterday.

“It was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening. We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness,” the 46-year-old wrote on the platform.

He continued, “We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed,” he said, adding that it was more important now than ever ‘that we stand United.’”

“I truly love our Country, and love you all, and look forward to speaking to our Great Nation this week from Wisconsin,” he added.

Unfortunately, the shooting killed one bystander and injured two others. The gunman, identified as Thomas Crooks, was shot dead by Secret Service agents seconds after he shot at the former President.
