We previously reported that Tay K, real name Taymor McIntyre, was found not guilty of capital murder but found guilty of murder. Just in, the Texas rapper has now been sentenced to 80 years in prison by a Bexar County jury.

The 24-year-old has been sentenced following the fatal shooting of a San Antonio man in 2017. He was convicted for the death of Mark Anthony Saldivar, who was fatally shot outside a San Antonio Chick-Fil-A.

Following hours of deliberation by the jury, the verdict was delivered on Tuesday night and the jury found Tay-K not guilty of capital murder but found him guilty of the lesser charge of murder, meaning he faced a maximum of life in prison with the possibility of parole and a fine up to $10,000.

McIntyre‘s murder trial in San Antonio began two weeks ago. During sentencing, state District Judge Stephanie Boyd ordered that McIntyre serve his prison sentences in Tarrant and Bexar County concurrently.

According to reports, the state requested that the jury sentence McIntyre to life in prison during the closing statements. The rapper is already serving a 55-year sentence for the Tarrant County murder case.

This is the rapper’s second murder conviction in Texas. Tay-K, who’s best known for his 2017 single ‘The Race,’ which was recorded while he was on the run from authorities for the home invasion.

The song was released the same day he was arrested by U.S. Marshals in New Jersey in connection with a 2016 murder case in Tarrant County.

He was convicted in 2019 for the shooting death of 21-year-old Ethan Walker during a home invasion in 2016 in Mansfield, southeast of Fort Worth, Texas.
