T.I. & Tiny's Sexual Assault Charges Dismissed By Judge
Judge Grants The Dismissal Of T.I. & Tiny’s Sexual Assault Lawsuit

T.I. and Tiny have scored a major win in court and can now move past their sexual assault allegations after a judge granted the dismissal of the lawsuit filed against the couple.

Last month, the couple asked the judge to grant them a dismissal “on the grounds that plaintiff’s claims are time-barred and that she fails to allege facts sufficient to state any claim.”

The lawsuit stemmed from a 2021 police investigation surrounding allegations that the celebrity couple sexually assaulted Jane Doe in 2005. In a complaint filed in Los Angeles court, Doe accused the couple of sexual assault, battery, negligence, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The L.A. County district attorney ultimately decided not to file the charges, but Jane Doe decided to file an official lawsuit under the California’s Sexual Abuse and Cover Up Accountability Act.

This allows civil suits in cases of sexual assault that have gone past the statute of limitations, when “one or more entities are legally responsible for damages and the entity or their agents engaged in a cover up.”

In the lawsuit documents obtained by Billboard, lawyers for the alleged victim wrote: “Plaintiff did not consent to any of the sexual assault or misconduct and did not have the capacity to consent after being drugged by defendants.”

Ultimately, the judge decided to side with T.I. and Tiny and essentially agreed the statute of limitations had indeed passed.

The plaintiff does, though, have a weeks-long window to provide the courts with the necessary evidence to refile. If they cannot provide it, though, they must agree to dismiss the lawsuit without prejudice.
