Thanks to the emergency crews in that had to come to the rescue of 28 people after they were stuck on an Oregon amusement ride that malfunctioned for about an hour and a half.

According to the New York Post, firefighters worked with engineers at Oaks Park to manually lower the ride, although the emergency crews were prepared to conduct a high-angle ropes rescue if necessary.

The ride which is known as AtmosFEAR, works like a pendulum, with the capacity to swing riders completely upside down. “The ordeal was just crazy. My entire bladder hurts. I was holding back throw-up. My legs are killing me,” one of the riders, Daniel Allen, told CBS News affiliate KION.

A witness to the incident, Lavina Waters, told KION that, “The ride went up, the kids got stuck on the ride and they were just dangling. And somebody came in and said ‘Hey, the kids are stuck on the ride’ and I look up, and sure enough, they were stuck on the ride.”

An 8th grade class was conducting a field trip at the park was among the 28 people who got stuck on the ride. According to witnesses, the riders were throwing up and losing items.

The park however said it would work with the ride’s manufacturer and state inspectors to inspect and determine what went wrong which opened in 2021.
