NFL Tells Kendrick Lamar Not To Perform ‘Not Like Us’ At Super Bowl Halftime Show

NFL Reportedly Asks Kendrick Lamar Not To Perform ‘Not Like Us’ At The Super Bowl Halftime Show
For months now, Drake has been putting in work to stop his nemesis, Kendrick Lamar, from performing his viral diss song “Not Like Us” at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The diss track which Kendrick dropped during his infamous beef with Drake, soon became a nationwide anthem, giving the Compton native an edge in the war and eventually made most people crown him as the victor.
Just in, the National Football League has reportedly notified members of Kendrick Lamar’s team that he should not perform the controversial song during this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” had its biggest streaming day of 2025 yesterday, on the Spotify Global Chart with 1.81M streams.

KDot was selected to perform at this year’s Super-Bowl following the success of the defamatory Drake “diss” track. However, Drizzy in his quest to prevent the song from being played, filed a federal defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group.
The Canadian rapper hired one of the best law firms in the country, Willkie Farr & Gallagher. For context, the firm’s lawyer Michael Gottlieb helped filed and won a $148.1 million verdict against Rudy Giuliani for defaming former Georgia elections.
According to MTO, the lawsuit has a very high chance of winning a big verdict. The outlet also adds that the lawsuit was filed in a way that allows Drake to easily add the National Football League, or anyone else that plays the song publicly, to the suit.
The National Football League’s attorneys are said to be having difficulty in determining whether to allow Kendrick to perform the defamatory song to hundreds of millions of people, and possibly subject the league to billions in damages.
Members of the National Football League reached out to Kendrick’s team, and requested that he do not play the diss track during the halftime show. Hip Hop fans have since been reacting to the development, with many slamming Drake for the move.
I can’t describe how anti hip hop this lawsuit is. This is crazy. Drake really did prove he is not like us after all. Kendrick really did prove who the liar was. Funny thing Dot hasn’t said or done anything extra besides release music. A lot of this is Drake’s own doing. pic.twitter.com/sJtdnlaSKH
