Michigan Woman Set Her Ex-Boyfriend’s Home On Fire, Killing His Disabled Mother

Woman Allegedly Set Her Ex-Boyfriend’s Home On Fire, Resulting In The Death Of His Disabled Mother
A 31-year-old Michigan woman is facing multiple charges for setting fire to her ex-boyfriend’s house last week, which killed his disabled mother, injured his uncle and the uncle’s fiancée.
On Monday, June 3rd, the culprit, Cinamon Charmaine Rigmaiden, went to her ex boyfriend Dorrough’s home at about 11:17 p.m., where she poured an accelerant on the front porch of the his home.
She then allegedly set the home located in the 6000 block of Seminole Street, on fire and fled the scene. According to Law and Crime, members of the Detroit Fire Department and the Hamtramck Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.
Medics reportedly arrived on the scene and pronounced the ex boyfriend’s disabled mother dead. However, the two surviving victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The disgruntled woman allegedly used 75 cents worth of gas to set fire to a couch on Dorrough’s porch. After starting the fire, Cinamon texted her ex-boyfriend, “Your house is on fire.”
The fiancé of the uncle escaped by jumping out of a second-story window, leaving the uncle and Ms. Dorrough inside.
According to one of the prosecutors, Livingston, the uncle had to flee to avoid more smoke inhalation but had to leave his paralyzed sister behind. “Cinamon then went to McDonald’s and, allegedly by her own words, purchased cocaine,” Livingston added.

Speaking on the situation, Cinamon’s lawyer said she started the fire to damage property and thought the house was empty when she did it. But prosecutors refuted the claim, saying she knew her ex-boyfriend’s disabled mother was in the house.
Kym Worthy, Wayne County Prosecutor, in a statement said: “Since when is the solution in the breakup of a relationship setting fire to an occupied house?”
According to the police, Rigmaiden was arrested on Tuesday and charged with one count of murder, one count of assault with intent to murder, and one count of setting the fire that killed 53-year-old Tina Dorrough.
