Megan Thee Stallion Says Beyoncé Is The Reason She Started Her Own Tequila Brand

Megan Thee Stallion recently joined Shannon Sharpe on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, where she spoke on her new venture in the alcohol business, revealing Beyonce was the reason why she started her own Tequila brand.

The Houston native first addressed her next chapter as an independent artist. According to Meg, it has leveled her up in all ways with the guidance of Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

“When I was in the situation with [1501] and I wanted to get out of it, they told me you need to do this on your own. Like, ‘You already know what it is. You already have all the tools,” she said.

“All the legal sh*t you are going through, I know you are learning something. So you should figure out how to get out here and be your own boss.’”

The ‘Hottie’ rapper then revealed that Beyonce was the reason she launched her own Tequila brand. “Beyonce is the person who actually inspired me to get my own Tequila,” she told Shannon. “Because I used to be the cognac queen.. I’m still the cognac queen.”

She continued, “As much as I used to enjoy cognac and I promote it to a lot of people .. like liquor brands, she was like ‘next time I see you, you better have your own. You need to have your own alcohol… alcohol beverage.’ And I was like ‘you’re right queen, I’m going to have my own.’”

“I now have my own Tequila scotch. It’s gonna be so cute. I’ve been serving it throughout my tour and everybody’s been loving it. I feel like the definitely put me in position to learn how to be my own boss.”

Back in May, the rapper gave fans a first look at the tequila line she’s been working on. Meg shared footage of herself holding a bottle with an orange and red ombré design during the Chicago stop of her “Hot Girl Summer Tour.”

“Chicago Hotties, your [chica] is ready. Y’all get to have thee first exclusive taste of my new tequila, dropping soon,” she wrote in the caption.
