Kai Cenat Reveals He Turned Down Offers From Amazon Prime, Netflix & Tubi For Streamer University

Kai Cenat recently revealed that he turned down offers from Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Tubi to bring his project Streamer University, to their platforms. But the content creator chose to retain full creative control and launch it independently.

A decision that has been met with mixed reactions from fans, with many saying turning down the offers isn’t a good business move.

The 23-year-old made the revelation on Instagram Live. He revealed that he had declined offers from giant streaming platforms Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Tubi—to bring his innovative project, Streamer University, to their services.

“They wanted to turn this into a polished show. But this isn’t reality TV. It’s real life, real people, and real learning,” he said on the live, sharing his desire to keep the program grounded and remain undiluted.

“I’m going to say something real quick, man. I’m going to be honest. I’m going to say some real shit because because I haven’t even given y’all any game for real. One thing I learned with this shit, bro, a lot of people have been talking about how this shit should be on Netflix, how this shit should be on, or Amazon Prime should buy this, Tubi should buy it,” he continued.

The Twitch streamer then emphasized his commitment to maintaining creative control and ensuring the authenticity of the program. “We already been getting talks with different but an idea like this so original, you got to keep it where it’s at.”

“Want to know why? I want y’all to learn something, bro. Y’all channels and who y’all are as a person, y’all channels, y’all pages of being content creators game. This is your idea. This is your guys’ stuff. You feel me? Treat your platform, platforms.”

“Shout out to all these big platforms that have subscriptions, bro. Twitch, I think of it like this. If you gonna sub up, you’re going to get some good shit. Y’all had the opportunity to make y’all’s platform as big as other platforms they see. They’re all doing the same thing. It’s the same thing. It’s the same exact,” he added.

Reacting to Kai’s revelation, someone wrote: “If this is real, biggest L in streaming history. Bro turned down mainstream audience and professional assistance to prove a point.”

“Imagine turning down Netflix which would give you global access plus Amazon prime…smh!
Did nobody teach these folks distribution, etc
Wtf,” another person wrote.

Streamer University is a unique bootcamp designed to mentor aspiring streamers and content creators. The program is being held at the University of Akron, hosting 120 selected participants while also offering a virtual experience for many more.
