Fiancée Devastated After Her Groom-To-Be Was Killed In A Head On Collision In NYC Saturday One Day Before Their Wedding

A groom-to-be lost his life Saturday morning in Manhattan after he was killed in a horrific car accident one day before his wedding.

Kirk Walker, the groom-to be, and cousin, Rob McLaurin, were killed by a wrong-way driver, according to NY Post.

The tragic incident happened on Henry Hudson Parkway in Harlem. The devastating news has left his fiancée, Shauntea Weaver, 40, in a state of shock and disbelief. “I’m supposed to be in my wedding dress right now — not in mourning,” Shauntea said in reaction to the car accident.

“I feel like this is a TV show and I’m going to wake up any minute and go back to my real life. Every hour since it happened, I’m having a different emotion take me over,” the grieving fiancee told the outlet.

38-year-old Kirk Walker was out enjoying his bachelor party ahead of his big day with Shauntea when his ‘Dodge Challenger was hit head-on at about 2:20 a.m. by a pickup truck barreling down the wrong way of the parkway, according to police and a Facebook post.’

The driver behind the wheel of that vehicle ended up fleeing the scene, leaving the passenger in the car, who attempted to flee but was caught shortly after. He’s currently in the hospital with broken legs.

The fiancée said the authorities promised to bring the person responsible, the driver, for this tragedy to justice.

“They told me the he left his DNA on the airbags. So they have that,” Shauntea said. “Also the passenger is in the hospital with broken legs and he needs to speak up. Two lives were lost in a reckless car crash. They need to pay for killing two innocent people,” she added.
