DJ Akademiks & Wack 100 Debate Whether Kendrick Lamar’s ‘GNX’ Album Is A Classic
DJ Akademiks & Wack 100 Discuss Whether Kendrick Lamar’s ‘GNX’ Album Qualifies As A Classic

DJ Akademiks and Wack 100 recently had a discussion on Kendrick Lamar’s most recent album ‘GNX’. The two shared their takes on the album and debated whether the album qualifies as a classic or not.

Although AK is a known Drake fan, he admits that K Dot’s success is something that will be the biggest moment in Hip-Hop.

Notwithstanding, the “OffTheRecords” host doesn’t consider GNX a classic album. “GNX has done pretty well. I don’t think necessarily think it was a ‘classic,’ but I thought it was a good album,” he shared during the discussion.

Wack 100 then chimes in, opposing Akademiks’ take. “You know what made it [GNX] a classic? He did 12 songs with the features being pretty much all up-and-comers, and it did numbers,” the Hip Hop manager said.

The controversial blogger then respond to Wack’s comment by mentioning Kendrick’s calculated moves. “Kendrick has mastered the art of timing,” he said, according to HotNewHipHop.

“There’s only a few artists that know how to do this… I think Drake is horrible at this. He don’t let fans miss him. Everybody’s biggest critique on Drake is, ‘Bro, disappear a little bit.’ He can’t.”

GNX is the Compton rapper’s sixth studio album. It was surprise released through PGLang and Interscope Records on November 22, 2024. The album was the rapper’s fifth number one on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Reacting to the debate, a fan wrote: “GNX is EASILY a classic and in my opinion Kendrick’s 3rd best album behind butterfly and Good Kid.”

“Ppl talking about music that dont understand music. CLASSICS have to AGE 1st. This is a premature conversation,” another person commented.
