There have been rumors swirling for months that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are divorcing, but no one truly knew the exact reason why they decided to reportedly split after 2 years of marriage.

Well, according to report reaching us from Radar Online, the real reason Ben left Jen is that he’s afraid that he will relapse from being around her and her fast lifestyle.

A source told the news outlet that Ben has had a tough road to sobriety after fighting alcoholism for years. With J Lo, though, he’s reportedly scared that he will fall into the temptation of drinking again because of the fast lifestyle she lives.

Lopez just launched an alcohol brand last year, during her marriage with Ben, and says she “occasionally enjoys a drink”. Although the actress says she only drinks to promote her brand, the source claims Ben cannot be around drinking in no shape, way, or form.

However, there seems to be no middle ground when it comes to being around alcohol. An insider said: “It’s really unhealthy for him to be around any kind of alcohol,” an insider said, continuing that, “And with J. Lo, the drinking came with parties, surrounded by fake people who treated him special because of his fame, which was a trigger for him.”

“The marriage was incredibly overwhelming – J.Lo lives a very glam lifestyle, and he was often faced with temptation. he’s risking sobriety in that environment and he has to leave to avoid his worse nightmare — relapse”.

The insider continued, “He’s moving on. His plate is full. That’s just how Ben deals with adversity now that he’s committed to staying sober: He buckles down and focuses on the work. He’s not looking back.”

“Ultimately, ending the marriage was the best decision. If Ben hadn’t ended it, many believe he would have eventually started drinking again – and that would have been a disaster,” the insider added.
