A Missing 9-Year-Old Boy Was Found Sleeping On His Friend’s Couch Hours After A Frantic Search To Find Him

A Texas family can breathe a sigh of relief after their 9-year-old son was found safely sleeping on his friend’s couch hours after being reported missing.

The young boy, Zavien Keyes, reportedly missed his morning school bus, so he decided to walk to his elementary school in Grapevine, TX.

Unfortunately, Zavien never made it to school, causing an all-out panic from his school and family, according to Fox 4 Dallas. They then called authorities and reported him missing with an “Athena Alert”, an alert issued when a child goes missing, but there is no verification of an abduction.

The neighborhood was searched and also his route to school, and all the surrounding parks. Local ring cameras were even checked, but there was still no sign of Zavien anywhere. They then issued an Amber alert after hours of searching.

Dramatically, Zavien was found at a friend’s house asleep on the couch, unharmed. “We want to thank our amazing community for the support and help in locating this little boy,” police said on Facebook.

“We also thank the multiple partnering agencies who responded so quickly to assist in this search effort.”

I know Zavien gave his parents a heart attack! Thank God he was found!
