Renowned TV star Oprah Winfrey, was recently hospitalized because of a stomach problem that left her excreting from ‘both ends. The shocking revelation was made by her best friend Gayle King.

Gayle made the confession on Tuesday, adding that she hopes Oprah would not be upset by her indiscretion.

King met with author David Wroblewski, whose latest book, Familiaris, was chosen by Oprah for her book club. Originally, Oprah announces her book club picks herself, unfortunately, she was ill and couldn’t go on the show.

Gayle took her place and she made comments on Winfrey’s situation. “She had some kind of stomach thing where – stomach Flu stuff was coming out of both ends. I won’t get too graphic,” she revealed.

The news anchor continued, “But needless to say, she ended up in the hospital, dehydrated, she had an IV, so it was a very serious thing.” After oversharing, she then said: “I hope she’s not mad at me for sharing that detail.”

Back in December, Winfrey admitted to having used weight loss drugs which many believe to be Ozempic, a popular diabetic drug in Hollywood for losing weight. She admitted to People following heavy rumors that she was on the weight loss pills.

According to the popular TV personality at the time, she had given up and started taking weight loss pills. Oprah had been under the impression that she had to use her own “willpower” to get the kind of body she wanted.

Back in February, Oprah Winfrey stepped down from Weight Watchers board after admitting she used weight loss drugs. She said her decision to leave the board “was not the result of any disagreement” or “any matter relating to the company’s operations, policies or practices.”

“Oprah is an inspiring presence and passionate advocate both for our members and for society at large, in elevating the conversation around weight health,” CEO Sima Sistani said at the time.
