Popular singer and beauty icon, Rihanna, full name Robyn Rihanna Fenty, has unfortunately lost her father, Ronald Fenty. The singer’s dad was 70.

Ronald died in Los Angeles following a brief illness, according to Starcom Network. His official cause and date of death have yet to be revealed.

The Barbados based outlet says that Fenty’s family was with him around the time of his death. In photos obtained by TMZ, Rihanna’s brother, Rajad Fenty, could be seen arriving at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on May 28.

Riri was also in the vehicle, per the outlet. Reps for the singer are yet to give official information on this news. Notwithstanding, fans have since been showing the family support on social media.

The “Fenty” mogul and her dad had a troubled relationship over the years. Ronald reportedly struggled with alcohol and drug abuse, causing conflict between the two. He also divorced Rihanna’s mother, Monica Braithwaite, when she was just 14.

The “Diamonds” hitmaker addressed their estrangement in a 2011 interview with Vogue, calling their relationship really strange. “That’s the only word I can think of to describe it because you grow up with your father, you are a part of him for goodness sakes!” the singer said at the time.

“And then he does something so bizarre that I can’t begin to wrap my mind around it. You hear the horror stories about people going behind people’s backs and doing strange things, but you always think, ‘Not my family. My father would never do that to me,’” she continued.

The two reconciled in 2012. Riri made this known during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, saying she learned to separate who he was as a father and as a husband.
