There’s been an uproar over the NFL’s decision to select Kendrick Lamar as the headliner of the Super Bowl half-time show in New Orleans LA.

The National Football League and Apple Music made the announcement on Sunday, causing a debate amongst fans who believe it’s a big disrespect to Lil Wayne who’s actually from New Orleans.

Lil Wayne’s manager, Fabian Marasciullo, wasted no time in reacting to the NFL selecting Kendrick Lamar over Lil Wayne. Taking to his Instagram story, he wrote: “Confused. Disappointed. Angry. But most of all. Inspired.”

Fabian continued, “Will never again be in a position or have the [GOAT] in a position where we are at the mercy of someone else’s decision. We will make the decisions.”

Lil Wayne’s daughter, Reginae Carter, also reacted to the snub. The 25-year-old took to X, formerly Twitter to share her take. “They envy greatness !!!!” she simply wrote.

Master P also took to Instagram to call out the organizers for snubbing Lil Wayne in his hometown.

“Salute to @kendricklamar for performing at the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX.. well deserved, he’s one of the hottest music artists in the world and has one of the biggest songs right now,” he began.

“As Ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans I have to agree with the fans that @liltunechi #LilWayne should be a part of this celebration as well,” Master P continued.

“He’s one of the greatest Hop Hop artists alive, still relevant and he’s a New Orleans native. Let’s not miss this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short! We have to give our legends their flowers while they are here,” he added.
