Britney Spears Bags 8-Figure Deal With Universal Pictures For Her Memoir ‘The Woman In Me’ Biopic

Universal Studios has reportedly landed the rights to Britney Spears’s memoir, ‘The Woman in Me,’ and will be producing the biopic with directors on it including Jon M. Chu and Marc Platt.

According to RadarOnline, the pop superstar apparently hinted at the deal on X, formerly Twitter just hours before it was announced.

The 42-year-old talked about how she was excited to share with her fans that she’s been working on the project with Mark and that everyone should stay tuned. The interesting memoir will showcase everything from her growing up in a small Louisiana town to her becoming a megastar.

It will also feature relationships, divorce battles, mental hardships, and much more. The deal includes the rights to Spears’s music catalog and is billed at eight figures, per The Ankler.

It appears there are other big studios who wanted their hands on this catalog. According to reports, major studios including Sony, Warner Brothers, Fox, and even Disney and Netflix wanted it.

The reason is not far fetched as there are Oscar-winners like Michelle Williams as the narrator talking bought how Justin Timberlake would put on a “blaccent” around his rapper friends to try and fit in.

Last week, Britney and Halsey hatched their differences following a little controversy over the latter’s track ‘Lucky’ which features an interpolation of Spears’ 2000 hit of the same name.

“I love Britney!!!! I always have and always will you were the first person who ever made me realize what it means to feel inspired. And you continue to inspire me everyday,” Halsey tweeted.
