The infant suffered multiple internal injuries from blunt force trauma, per autopsy reports, including contusions to the back of the head, an acute subdural brain hemorrhage, ocular nerve hemorrhages, and fractures to the clavicle, tibia, ribs, and jawbone.

Davis and an unidentified woman gave consistent accounts of the incident prior to the baby’s discovery, per investigators, with both of them claiming that the baby was healthy with no prior ailments that could explain his sudden death.

According to the mother, she fed the baby formula before handing him to his father to take a shower, adding that Davis joined her in the shower after feeding the baby for 15-20 minutes, and placing him on the bed.

The baby was later found unresponsive with formula coming from his nose. Davis performed CPR while she called 911.

The arrested father initially denied knowing the cause but eventually admitted to hitting the baby twice with his knee due to stress when detectives questioned him about the brain bleeding.
