Simone Biles Shades Ex Teammate MyKayla Skinner After Olympic Gold Win
Simone Biles is not letting things slide. She’s now clapped back at her former teammate, MyKayla Skinner, after she threw shade at the 2024 Women’s Gymnastic team a few weeks before they eventually took home the gold at the Olympics.
Earlier this month, MyKayla posted a video on YouTube criticizing the women’s gymnastic team for being lazy and not as hardworking as her team.
The 27-year-old was on the 2020 gymnastic team with Simone, so, in her opinion, this team wasn’t as good as hers. “Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t like what it used to be,” she said at the time.
“Just notice like, I mean, obviously a lot of girls don’t work as hard,” she continued. “The girls just don’t have the work ethic,” she added, per a clip from the video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Part 1: The gymnastics community cannot let these comments to be swept under the rug. I will be as respectful as possible to @mykaylaskinner but instead of engaging in meaningful conversation she blocks anyone who holds her accountable for her words. pic.twitter.com/Y69pwCxnUG

Skinner claimed that the required abuse awareness training program SafeSport was one of the reasons why she felt the work ethic had changed. “Coaches can’t get on athletes, and they have to be really careful what they say,” she said.
Biles and the other girls in the team obviously didn’t take this lightly, and decided to throw shade at MyKayla right after winning the gold in Paris yesterday! “Lack of talent, lazy, Olympic champions,” Simone wrote in her caption.
A lot of fans in the comments section caught the shade immediately, dropping laughing emojis and tagging MyKayla in the post to answer for her comments.
Retired gymnast Mckayla Maroney, also slid in the comments to drop her take. “It doesn’t get more iconic than this.. She f’d around n found out fr. Feels like I need to apologize just to redeem my first name,” she wrote.
