Remy Ma is currently facing backlash over her revealing outfit to the 2023 BET Awards. The rapper marked her first appearance since her son’s arrest for murder, and she did so in a controversial fashion.

Remy, real name Reminisce Kioni Mackie, graced the red carpet in a mini dress that turned several heads, leaving little to the imagination.

The revealing outfit worn by the rapper has since sparked outrage amongst fans, many of whom find it insensitive and inappropriate to wear while her son is facing murder charges. Folks online, especially on X, formerly Twitter, have been sharing their takes on the topic.

“Her son is otw to jail and she’s out here n*ked,” someone commented. “Her son fightin a murderr charge and all she can do as a mother is to get on the carpet naked,” another person wrote.

The rapper’s son Jayson Scott, was arrested on murder charges for a June 2021 shooting in Queens, New York. He was apprehended on June 18, on charges of murder in the first and second degree, two counts of criminal weapon possession, and irresponsible danger.

Richard Swygert, another accomplice was also charged in the same murder of 47-year-old Darius Guillebeaux, who was shot following a dispute on June 7, 2021. Richard is facing one murder charge in the first degree plus criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

Remy Ma expressed her support for her son, Jayson Scott, while reacting to his arrest during an interview with TMZ. “We stand by JaySon’s innocence and pray that the NYPD will conduct a complete and thorough investigation to reveal the truth,” she told the outlet.

“This is undoubtedly a difficult time for my family and me.’While we sincerely appreciate the love and support we have received from all of you, we kindly ask for privacy as our legal team works to prove JaySon’s innocence,” she added.
