Atlanta rapper Peewee Longway, real name Quincy Williams, has reportedly been arrested in a massive federal drug bust this. Just last month, the rapper shut down rumors that he was fighting for his life after a drug overdose.

The arrest and seizure was part of an ongoing, sweeping operation targeting drug trafficking across the nation that resulted in the arrest of around 101 people.

According to reports circulating, authorities seized upwards of $200 million worth of illicit drugs that included unprecedented amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl-two substances perpetuating the nation’s opioid crisis.

Drugs weren’t the only thing seized, the authorities also seized cash worth $273,433, and charges related to drug trafficking and distribution were imposed on 19 people.

It’s however noteworthy that rapper Peewee Longway’s name is not included among those who were charged and further updates on the same are currently awaited.

This federal operation is arguably one of the most major drug busts in recent times, and puts a focus on how serious law enforcement is about cracking down harder on those who commit drug-related crimes.

Peewee Longway’s arrest has brought a widespread attention to a disgusting issue at the junction of hip-hop and criminal activities in general that appears to have been the order of the day.

According to the website of the US Attorney’s Office, the operation was launched as part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force and certain substances like fentanyl and methamphetamine were found, alongside firearms like machine guns and Glock switches.

Greg Countryman, Muscogee County Sheriff, also told the reporters that it is necessary to stop drug trafficking in Columbus. “Just because your name was not caught in the arrest yesterday, don’t get too comfortable,” Greg said.
