We’re reporting with a saddened heart that Philly rapper LGP Qua, real name Qidere Johnson, has passed away at just 25 years old, and the news has come as a huge shock to the city.

According to multiple reports, LGP Qua was shot and killed in his hometown. While there are no official details about his death, fans and the community are heartbroken.

The 25-year-old rapper was known for spreading positivity and speaking out against violence. Fellow Philly rapper, Meek Mill, has taken to social media to send his condolences, “Killing ambitious young bulls like this on Mother’s Day is a Philly type of thing smfh,” he wrote.

Johnson grew up in North Philly and he got serious about music after spending a short time in jail back in 2016.

His stint in jail changed him, and he decided to use his voice to inspire others. Qua started gaining attention in 2017 when one of his powerful freestyles during Meek Mill’s incarceration went viral. The freestyle was so ‘fire’ that it caught the attention of heavyweights like Jay-Z and Nas.

The deceased was known for real, heartfelt tracks like “Stay Woke,” “Reaper,” and “Hungry Before the Bite.” He also worked with Will.i.am on “INSOMNIAC (woke)” and teamed up with Foot Locker on a positive campaign.

Qua’s upcoming mixtape Voice of the Youth, Vol. I had fans excited to hear more from him. Hopefully, his team would still be able to put it out.

The young man is also known for his philanthropic efforts and often visited his old school to talk to kids about staying on the right path. Qua made a big impact in his hometown and beyond.
