North Carolina Man Shot Dead Shortly After His Wedding Due To A Road Rage Incident With Another Driver
What’s supposed to be a fun and memorable night for a newly wedded couple unfortunately took a terrible turn when the groom was shot dead right in front of his bride, leaving everyone in shock.
The saddening incident happened late Saturday night, Oct. 12. Per the Greensboro Police, the groom, Tyrek Burton, was outside a wedding venue in North Carolina when a road-rage incident turned deadly.
In a statement to WGHP, the late 37-year-old’s sister, Brittany Burton said: “It was supposed to be one of the happiest nights of his life, and then it all went wrong.”

Authorities were alerted just before 9 p.m. after reports of a shooting at the event space. Tyrek was found in the parking lot with multiple gun wounds. According to the officials, first responders tried to save him, but he didn’t make it.
His sister-in-law, Nysheria Holloway, also spoke to WRAL about the tragic incident, saying: “It was just unbelievable.It was awful.” He had only been married to Holloway’s sister, Kiara, for only seven hours before being shot dead.
According to family members, Tyrek briefly stepped out of the reception, and on his way back to the venue, another driver accused him of cutting him off. Things escalated quickly, and he was shot dead right in front of his new wife.
The deceased groom is remembered as a hardworking father of four daughters and a loving partner who had been with Kiara for over ten years, per News Observer.
The heartbreaking news has since gone viral on social media, garnering lots of reactions from netizens. “Damn a wife and a widow all in the same day,” someone noted. “Prayers to his family man. Road rage is never this serious. Humans make me sick,” another person wrote.
