Misa Hylton Sues Mary J. Blige For $5 Million For Allegedly Sabotaging Rapper Vado’s Deal

Mary J. Blige has been slapped with a $5 million lawsuit from her former stylist and longtime friend, Misa Hylton, who claims Mary sabotaged rapper Vado’s deal.

According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Vado was signed to Mary’s label Beautiful Life Productions but was being managed by Misa’s agency M.I.S.A Management.

Misa and her company are alleging that the Grammy Award winning singer used her power to tear up their deal behind the scenes. They claim Mary refused to release Vado’s finished album and blocked him from going on tour unless he dropped Misa as his manager.

Misa claims the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul secretly worked on Vado during yacht parties, hotel meetups, and private events where M.I.S.A was purposely left out, alleging that the aim was to isolate him and push him into a new deal.

The 54-year-old singer’s security chief, who is described as her boyfriend, was trying to sign Vado himself, per the lawsuit. Mary’s boyfriend allegedly pressured Vado to sign a new deal without any legal advice and warned him that staying loyal to Misa would cost him big opportunities.

Hylton also claims Blige personally threatened that the album would stay on ice and no touring would happen if Vado did not cut ties with her agency.

The plaintiffs argue that the singer’s actions left Vado in “economic servitude,” unable to earn income or repay advances tied to his recording deal.

Well, Misa is now asking the court for $5 million to cover breach of contract, emotional distress, and the dirty interference with her business. She also wants an order stopping Mary and her camp from messing with Vado’s career any further.
