Megan Thee Stallion To Host 2024 VMAS
The 2024 Video Music Awards just got more interesting with its latest announcement. Megan Thee Stallion has officially been announced as the host of this year’s VMAS.
The Houston rapper was named the host of the ceremony on Thursday morning. This will be Meg’s first time anchoring a major award show.
The 29-year-old previously won two VMAs, and this year she’s up for five nominations, including Best Collaboration with her tourmate GloRilla, who will also be performing at the MTV awards show this year, and Best Hip-Hip, the same category she won in 2020.

Taylor Swift has the highest nominations, with the chance to continue her record-breaking streak for “Video of the Year” and become the only artist to ever consecutively three-peat, and count five wins in the category.
Meg is no stranger to commanding the mic outside of Hip Hop. She previously co-hosted Saturday Night Live and as well landed acting roles in the television series She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, likewise in the film D**ks: The Musical.
“Music’s most iconic night has found the most iconic host,” a voiceover announced in the video uploaded to the award show Instagram with Meg’s trending “Mamushi” playing in the background.
“Megan Thee Stallion is bringing the heat, the body, and all the savagery and now she’s bringing ‘Hot Girl Summer’ to the VMAs,” the voiceover added.
The 2024 Video Music Awards will air live on Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV and it will be broadcast from New York’s UBS Arena.
