Marlon Wayans is getting mixed reactions following his statement about settling down. The actor and comedian revealed why he’s yet to get married, but fans aren’t feeling it.

According to Marlon, he’s never got married because he didn’t want his mother to feel jealous. “I never wanted my mother to feel second to any woman,” he said.

The statement has since gone viral, garnering mixed reactions from fans. “He’s just trying to sound smart to hide his degeneracy. No man puts his mother second to his wife or his wife second to his mother. It’s a trinity parents, wife, and yourself all separate but equal,” someone commented.

The 52-year-old recently stopped by the 23ABC studio this week to talk about his Wild Child tour and how comedy has become more than just entertainment.

“I’m trying to make the world get back calibrated to laughing,” he said.

Marlon says comedy is more than punchlines, it’s healing. “I talk about what hurts, and I talk about what’s funny about what hurts,” the actor said. “When I do that, someone in the audience is hurting too and I help them heal.”

MHe also noted that he’s delivering a message behind the laughs. “I’ve been through so much trauma. Even if you haven’t, life has a way of beating you down. We all get a little depressed,” he said. “I’m glad I have two therapists I talk to. If I’m not in a good place, I talk to them.”
