Pras Michél Sues Lauryn Hill For Fraud & Breach Of Contract

‘The Fugees’ members Lauryn Hill and Pras Michél are currently beefing. Pras is reportedly suing Lauryn for fraud and breach of contract, claiming Lauryn caused the group to lose millions of dollars due to her narcissistic and egotistical ways!

In the lawsuit obtained by Variety, Fugees co-founder details how Lauryn’s shenanigans caused them to lose out on money on their botched 2023 world tour.

The tour was supposed to start in November 2023, but the singer and songwriter had to abruptly cancel due to an injury she sustained. Michel who’s not happy with the whole thing claims Lauryn mishandled the funds for the tour on purpose and it “was actually a veiled and devious attempt to make a big score for herself.”

According to him, it could’ve been “a huge commercial success, since most of the shows for the entire arena size because Lauryn controlled the tour budget “that was so bloated with unnecessary and, most likely fictitious, expenses, that it seemed designed to lose money.”

He says he’s stuck with a $1 million legal bill from an outside case because the tour fell through. Pras is blaming this on Lauryn. “Hill was taking 40% of the tour guarantees and tour net profits ‘off the top’ for herself, leaving the remaining 60% to be split equally between Hill, Pras and Wyclef,” the suit states.

He added that Lauryn’s “ego” stopped her from accepting a $5 million deal to perform at Coachella. The 49-year-old icon was reportedly upset that the group ‘No Doubt’ was billed above them, so she turned down the deal as a whole.

Michel also claims he didn’t find out about the botched deal until Lauryn asked him to perform for free during her son’s set.

He continued that Lauryn’s lateness has affected the group’s reputation as a whole. The full list of claims includes fraud, fraud in the inducement, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, accounting and refusal to permit an audit of the Fugees’ tour.
