Kaytranada Says He Turned Down Working With Beyonce After Her Team Tried To Low Ball Him

Kaytranada Reveals He Turned Down Working With Beyonce & Lost An Opportunity To Work With Drake
Kaytranada recently spilled all the tea in an interview he did with Vulture where he alleged that Beyoncé’s team offered him ‘next to nothing’ for ‘Cuff It (Remix)’ he produced.
The producer, rapper and DJ goes into detail about allegedly losing an opportunity to work with Drake due to him not being excited enough.
The 32-year-old previously worked with Beyonce as an opening DJ for her birthday Renaissance show in Los Angeles show and almost had the opportunity to work with her on a remix he did for her song ‘Cuff It’ but he revealed he turned it down.

Kaytranada, real name Louis Kevin Celestin, alleges in the interview that Beyonce’s team offered to pay him ‘next to nothing’ for the remix. Kay told Vulture he turned it down because he knows what he means to people and was quoted saying “Sometimes people don’t see your worth and how important you are”
The Haitian-Canadian music producer also spoke about other missed opportunities surrounding him reportedly working with Drake on his “Honestly, Nevermind” project.
He revealed he was approached to make beats for the project but it never came to pass due to him overhearing that it fell through due to his lack of excitement. He then went on to explain how he is more of a relaxed person and gave a causal response of “Sure, hit me up”.
Despite the fact that Kaytranada didn’t end up making beats for Honestly, Nevermind, his influence can be felt across the project that’s dedicated to late fashion designer Virgil Abloh.
Similar to Kaytranada’s music, the album’s sound leans more into the dance and house space. Drake eventually opted to work with his frequent collaborator 40, Gordo, and Black Coffee instead.
