Kanye West Says He’s Retiring From Music
Kanye West is undoubtedly one of the greatest rappers of all time, and arguably the most influential of his generation. His catalog includes a wide range of classic albums and he’s inspired some of contemporary rap’s biggest artists.
Ye released Vultures 1 with Ty Dolla $ign earlier this year. The rap icon is now considering retirement, which means fans might not be getting Vultures 2.
Rich The Kid recently shared some text messages with West on social media. “I am retiring from professional music. Not sure what else to do,” The “Donda” rapper wrote in the leaked DMs. “Not sure what else to do,” he added, sounding defeated.

While it’s unclear what prompted this decision, Ye bragged about going number one after cancellation, some months back, in celebration of Vultures 1 hitting number one on Billboard.
He also crowned himself as the only one true GOAT, claiming to have washed couple rappers on a track. “EVERYONE KNOWS I WASHED KENDRICK ON NO MORE PARTIES IN LA,” he wrote on Instagram back in March.
“EVERYONE KNOWS I WASHED DRAKE AT THE FREE HOOVER CONCERT. EVERYONE KNOWS I BROUGHT ADIDAS INTO THIS CULTURE AND I TOOK THEM OUT EVERYONE KNOWS LOTTA DEMNAVIRGIL JERRY KIM ALL WORKED FOR ME.”
He continued, “I MADE YEEZUS DARK FANTASY PABLO GRADUATION THRONE 808S. I MADE RUNAWAY DEVIL IN A NEW DRESS FATHER STRETCH.”
The Yeezy owner then boasted of his no 1 feat again after being previously cancelled. “I AM THE ONLY PERSON TO COME BACK TO NUMBER ONE AFTER CANCELLATION. THERE IS ONLY ONE GOAT. I STAND BY ME. MY FRIENDS CALL ME YE.”
