John Amos Was Cremated 9 Days After His Death – Report
Veteran actor, John Amos, died on August 21 in Los Angeles of natural causes, his representative confirmed on Tuesday. The ‘Roots’ and. ‘Coming To America’ actor was 84.
While fans and colleagues have since been paying tribute to the late actor, the details surrounding Amos’ death have been revealed.
Yesterday, his son, Kelly Christopher Amos, broke the sad news about John’s passing to the world, revealing that the actor transitioned on August 21, 2024, 45 days from when he made the statement.
John’s death certificate states “heart failure” as the cause of death and the surprising part is that it also states he was cremated 9 days later, on August 30.
“It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned. He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold… and he was loved the world over,” his son K.C. Amos, said in a statement per Variety.
“Many fans consider him their TV father. He lived a good life. His legacy will live on in his outstanding works in television and film as an actor,” he continued. “My father loved working as an actor throughout his entire life…. most recently in ‘Suits LA’ playing himself and our documentary about his life journey as an actor, ‘America’s Dad.’”
“He was my dad, my best friend, and my hero. Thank you for your prayers and support at this time,” Christopher added.
It’s quite unfortunate that John’s daughter posted on her social media that she did not know about her father’s passing until it was announced to the world. Now, with this revelation, she won’t even get the proper closure.
