Dwyane Wade has been honored with a statue of himself which has a connection to his late friend Kobe Bryant. The 42-year-old icon is the first Miami Heat player to receive a statue.

He was honored with an 8-foot bronze effigy on Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

According to People, the statue which has now gone viral on social media pays tribute to Dwyane doing the ‘this is my house’ pose in March 2009 after winning a double overtime game against the Chicago Bulls.

Wade’s statue was made by Rotblatt Amrany Studio sculptors Omri Amrany and Oscar León, whom have made other works like the Kobe Bryant “Black Mamba” statue and also the “Kobe and Gianna Bryant Memorial Statue.”

The former point guard can be seen admiring the statue after it was unveiled in a clip shared on X, formerly Twitter by Fox Sports reporter Rachel Nichols. “This is out of body, y’all,” h said.

“Like, that’s crazy,” he continued in awe of the sculpture immortalizing him. “I can’t believe that. Who is that guy?” Wade added as the resemblance wasn’t so striking.

During the press conference, he said: “I think its one of the, personally bias, I think it’s one of the bets statues that’s been created because of what it represents for us and for me. Man, I just have so many emotions and I think I probably have more emotions just listening UD [Udonis Haslem] and listening to Pat and listening to my son speak to me.”

“I know it’s bigger than me. We’re here right now, I’m present right now but I know this moment goes beyond just now,” he added.
