It’s Halloween season and a lot of people have been showing off their costumes on social media. Celebrities inclusive have been sharing family costume photos for the culture.
However, things didn’t go as expected for DJ Envy after he showed off him and his children’s costumes which many quickly tagged as inappropriate.
The DJ and record producer took to social media yesterday to share a clip of him and his children recreating Lil Kim’s iconic ‘Crush On You’ music video. His eight-year-old daughter Brooklyn, starred as Lil Kim and even got a FaceTime call from the icon herself.

In the viral clip, Brooklyn lip-syncs Kim lyrics including “I’ll be undressed in a bra, all see-through” and “the only one thing I wanna do is freak you,” though she does cover her mouth when the more explicit lines are recited.
While it seems Lil Kim approve this cosplay, netizens do not agree and have since been calling out DJ Envy over it. The clip was reposted on The Neighborhood Talk’s instagram page and majority of the comments have been negative.
“I could understand if your wife played Kim, But your daughter? Really? This is KRAZY,” Walt of VH1’s ‘Black Ink Crew’ commented. “This is gross and inappropriate to have your child out here dressing & rapping like this for the world to see,” another person wrote.
Amid the negative comments, some fellow celebrities including Cardi B and Lil Scrappy took time to show support for the ‘Breakfast Club’ co-host. “She took the assignment very serious SHE ATE THAT !!!,” the “WAP” rapper wrote.
“The baby got best actor inna film, she did that,” Scrappy added. Envy is yet to react to the public backlash.
