We previously reported that Chris Brown was arrested for an incident that allegedly took place back in 2023. The singer has been behind bars ever since, and it doesn’t look like that will be changing any time soon.

According to AllHipHop, a Manchester judge denied him bail this morning, meaning he’ll remain in custody until his next hearing.

Breezy’s next hearing is scheduled for June 13. Prior to this update, TMZ shared that the R&B star has officially been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm. The Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London North, Adele Kelly, outlined next steps.

Adele confirmed that the “No Guidance” hitmaker’s charge and said that case proceedings “are active… he has the right to a fair trial.” She then urged people to stop sharing commentary or information on the Internet “which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”

The singer’s legal trouble stems from an incident at Tape nightclub in Hanover Square. Brown allegedly assaulted music producer Abe Diaw. Abe claims that Breezy hit him over the head with a bottle multiple times, and continued the alleged assault once he was on the ground.

“He hit me on the head two or three times… My knee also gave out,” Abe told The Sun, adding that he had to be hospitalized as a result.

The producer later sued Brown over the incident, alleging that he “inflicted severe and lasting injuries” by “smashing his head with the bottle and continued to ruthlessly stomp on him as he lay unconscious on the nightclub floor.”

CCTV footage of the incident was captured by the nightclub, and has since been obtained by police. Neither Chris Brown nor his reps have spoken publicly to address the arrest.
